54 Ethnic Groups in Vietnam – Introduction

A bilingual book titled Vietnam – image of the community of 54 ethnic groups was compiled and published by the VNA Publishing House in 1996 to introduce the history, life and culture of ethnic groups in Vietnam. Over the past ten years, the book has been reprinted several times, with supplemented and updated information and photos.
In order to preserve and develop identities of the ethnic groups, the VNA Publishing House1 decided to provide 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam, a photo-book on ethnic groups in Vietnam.
The book contains many new images reflecting the daily life, culture and society as well as updated data of 54 ethnic groups residing throughout Vietnam. The book is expected to be a perfect product which can better serve researchers and readers at home and abroad.

1 : The Vietnam News Agency (VNA) is a national news agency, under the Government of Vietnam and the official information agency of the State of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The VNA provides the information on political, economic, social, cultural, scientific and technological issues of Vietnam and the world.
