The name of THE HOLY LAND OF VIET NAM STUDIES derives from emotion in many researchers of Vietnam studies who live in Vietnam and in foreign countries.
Our Board of composing books is permitted to set up a website with the name of The Holy land of Vietnam Studies – thanhdiavietnamhoc.com where there are many contributions from its members according to guidelines of Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Manh Hung.
2.1 The Holy land
The Holy land, a land is identified by values of tangible, intangible culture in modernity saying way or material culture, spirit in tradition saying way which were built and deepened by our ancestors through the process of history and based on some parts of intellectuals’ thoughts in the Vietnamese society. In that context the constitutional thoughts turned round the traditional and non- traditional fight to motivate the history.
2.2 The Holy Land of Vietnam Studies – Historical Picture
Since the French colonists fired at Danang seaport in 1858 and occupied Cochinchina and used it as a colony so as to find “the chain of food” in Far – Orient Asia to where Napoleon had pointed out. This was a show of way for groups “Requin” or called “Tycoons”– a section of the French financial group.
As identified in the Vietnamese context, the Holy land of Vietnam has soon transformed into an industry of academy named Vietnam with a network spreading many countries and territories of the world. Formerly, the network of Viet Nam Studies considered Europe, especially France, Japan, China and the United States of America as places where there have been contributions to the Vietnamese history written commonly. Typically, it was an organization of Euro-Viet.
Through many domestic seminars, somewhere a phrase of Viet Nam Studies has been rised as an academic industry covering tangible, intangible values of the Vietnamese nation which was admitted.
There was an international symposium on Viet Nam studies in Vietnam in 1988 which made Euro–Viet identified as an academic industry orientating the motherland. It was the place that has generated people with a cultural value not being dimmed when standing with the same industries, if not brightening, for instance, Japan studies Korea studies, Southeast Asia studies.
Apart from these Vietnam has contributed to some of great cultures such as China studies, India studies, The US. studies or Orient studies, Pacific Asia studies…
2.3 The Holy Land of Vietnam Studies – Devêlopment, Integration, Tradition Radition and Modernity
Coming back to 1998, Viet Nam studies was recognized “studying title”. According to statistics, there were 27 countries and 300 international scientists honored Viet Nam studies which have brightened on the platform.
On the days of that Congress the topic “Researching Viet Nam and international co-operation development” consisted 15 subcommittees with 395 addresses. The successive topic in 2004 was “Development, Integration, Tradition and Modernity”. In 2008 the third day of Viet Nam studies there were two central points “Integration and Development”. Afterwards in 2012 two previously central points still existed but developed a new realization of Sustainability.
The fifth day of the Viet Nam studies on which Hanoi National University raised highly the flag of Viet Nam studies. It worked as a spiritual sponsor so as to connect with some academic organizations such as Academy of Vietnamese Social Sciences, Academy of Vietnamese and Sciences and Technology, Ho Chi Minh City National University, Ministry of Education and Training, Ministry of Sciences and Technology, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social welfare, Ministry of Resources and Environment. It seems that all “water flows into hollows”.
The topic aimed at the central point “Sustainable Development in the context of global change”. It was organized in 12, 2016. Here Viet Nam studies were recognized by a lot of aspects: culture, politics, society and many subcommittees with lots of central points were set up: Foreign Affairs, Co-operation, International Integration (Subcommittee 1), Cultural force (Subcommittee 2), Education and Development of Forceful Source (Subcommittee 3), Delivery of Intellectuality and Technology (Subcommittee 4), Economy and Means of Support (Subcommittee 5), Change of Climate (Subcommittee 6).
Consequently, Viet Nam studies has grown and covered the problems showing that the Vietnamese people is rising up under the eye of other nearby peoples, especially peoples of great countries, every “slaughterer” of “passing away”. That thing seemed to connect with Vietnam through “love of history” and the engagement gift was the love of “iron and explosive”?
2.4 The Holy Land of Vietnam Studies – System of Ecological value of Human studies.
The Vietnamese people could try to ask. Who was its enemy? This was a strange guess who has been familiar in order to become above- mentioned humane thought which respects Vietnam – the holy land and a system of ecological value of human beings studies.
2.5 The Holy Land of Vietnam Studies – Technology and The Changing of climate
In 5th Congress of Viet Nam studies, Vietnam is able to support itself, so it can go into some areas reserved for the traditional realization such as social sciences and humanity to open the door of delivering intellectuality or a new front of “Technology and change of climate”.
The change of climate not only makes the life of the Vietnamese people erosive, but also may causes the whole humanity to stand on the brink of extinction. Vietnam looks like a rhythm in the human heart’s valve.
2.6 Vietnam Studies – Pratical Function
A question is posed just as a practical thought reserved for Viet Nam studies. “To where is this industry applied?” and What for? Or is it bewildered?
There has been a software concerning “Flappy birth”. The Vietnam bird perches on a waste tube like a water tube while other people have created it. It belongs to intellectual property.
The bird died immediately. Although it lived in the respect of the world as if it were a phoenix. A researcher of Viet Nam studies has posed a question: Why didn’t it replace that tube with a “staggering bamboo branch” in Vietnam countryside?
2.7 The Holy Land of Vietnam Studies – Substance of Lotus pistil
Why is Viet Nam studies? The question makes a researcher of Viet Nam studies have a different answer. When the President Barack Obama of the United States of America visited Ngoc Hoang Pagoda during his visit to Viet Nam on 24/05/2016, there were a lot of questions from many researcher of Viet Nam studies. What did Ngoc Hoang Pagoda have? And why was the reason for that? Is it true that Obama with a black complexion went there in order to pray a child, a boy or a girl, as a gift for his pension time “in his native country.”
The Industry of Viet Nam studies from University of California Berkeley, the United States of America (see the figure) has used documents of Viet Nam studies. At that time Professor Peter Zinoman (see the figure), the researcher of Viet Nam studies prepared some paragraphs for him.
This is a paragraph of two musicians Van Cao and Trinh Cong Son. He also arranged a visit to Ngoc Hoang Pagoda.
All of things have embodied the “substance of lotus pistil” in Vietnam swamps.
“Pistil substance” may be considered a kind of substance of “Made in Viet Nam” to create an organization network like a spider’s web of Viet Nam studies in order to connect Viet Nam with larger centers from many countries and territories in the world.
